Workshop on managing fatigue in the extractive industries, Johannesburg, South Africa, 11-12th August 2011

This two-day workshop, organised by the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), IPIECA (the global oil and gas industry association for environmental and social issues), and the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (OGP), will examine the development and implementation of Fatigue Management Systems (FMS).

Participants will have a chance to discuss technological developments in fatigue, the practical implementation of tools within the mining and metals / oil and gas industries, as well as perspectives from other sectors.

Clockwork’s Research Director, Dr Alexandra Holmes, has been invited to give a presentation describing the process of developing and implementing a Fatigue Management System. Dr Holmes’ presentation will draw on Clockwork’s extensive experience of delivering fatigue management solutions for clients in the oil and gas industry, and will highlight lessons that can be learned from the experience of  the aviation industry.
