The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is inviting its Member States, operators, industry representatives and scientists to its first Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS) Symposium in Montréal, Canada from 30 to 31 August 2011.
The Symposium will address themes related to the oversight and implementation of FRMS. It will examine the scientific principles that should form the basis of both prescriptive and non-prescriptive fatigue management regulations and will focus on the more controversial issues for States and operators, including the role of biomathematical models in FRMS, and relationship between FRMS and safety management systems (SMS).
Clockwork’s Research Director, Dr Alexandra Holmes, has been invited to deliver a presentation based on her experiences with operators large and small, focusing on whether FRMS is appropriate for all size of organisation.
