Cargloux launch web-based Fatigue Awareness and Countermeasures Training
Europe’s largest all-cargo airline, Cargolux, this week launches an online Fatigue Awareness and Countermeasures Training (FACT) programme designed to provide the company’s pilots with targeted, practical solutions for managing fatigue.
The training was developed by UK-based fatigue risk management specialists, Clockwork Research, the company who helped easyJet to develop its ground-breaking Fatigue Risk Management System and who also deliver the JAA-TO FRMS course.
Announcing the release of Cargolux FACT, Clockwork’s managing director, Dr Paul Jackson said: “This is the first online fatigue training programme developed for a long-haul airline that conforms with EASA’s proposed requirements for crew fatigue training.”
Cargolux FACT was developed in close conjunction with Dr Robert Klein and Thomas Wolf of the Cargolux Fatigue Risk Management Steering Group. Launching Cargolux FACT, Dr Klein said: “Cargolux FACT is a proactive commitment to improving operational and crew safety with a more effective and flexible approach to fatigue risk management.”
Cargolux FACT is based on a depth of scientific research and has been developed to meet the specific needs of Cargolux’s multi-faceted operations, including strategies for managing and mitigating the fatigue associated with long-haul flights.
