BP is one of the world’s largest fuel and energy providers, employing around 100,000 people in the oil, gas and alternative fuels sectors.
Since 2001 the Clockwork Research team has worked with BP on a wide range of projects around the world. Over the years we have designed and delivered fatigue training programmes to BP staff in Europe, Africa and the Far East, aimed at ensuring that maximal standards of safety and productivity are met and maintained.
In 2009 Clockwork were asked to help BP International write their Group Recommended Practice (GRP) on Fatigue Management, which is now recommended practice for all BP Regions. Since then Clockwork has helped individual regions to achieve compliance with the GRP. For BP Libya we assessed the fatigue of drivers involved in geophysical operations and made recommendations as to how this can be best managed. For BP Angola we have undertaken a fatigue risk assessment and provided a comprehensive set of recommendations to help the region achieve GRP compliance and improve employee safety.
Clockwork has also developed BP’s online Fatigue Awareness and Countermeasures Training (FACT) programme, which supports the GRP and is now available to all BP employees as part of their health and safety training.
