Dr Katharina Lederle – Senior Researcher

Katharina is a Senior Researcher at Clockwork, principally responsible for data collection and analysis on a range of projects. Most recently she has been involved in the Rega project, assisting Rega (the Swiss Air Ambulance) to develop its Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS).

After completing her Masters in Biological Sciences in Germany, Katharina carried out research in animal behaviour in South Africa and the Caribbean. She then completed her PhD with the Chronobiology Group at the University of Surrey, UK. Her PhD considered the effects of light of different spectral composition and irradiances on sleep, activity and circadian amplitude in older people suffering from self-reported sleep problems. Katharina worked closely with her study participants and has in-depth experience in both actigraphic and subjective assessment of sleep.
