Managing fatigue in Egypt
August 10th, 2012, London
A team from Clockwork has just returned from a project in Cairo, Egypt, where they conducted a fatigue risk site assessment of parts of an oil and gas operation.
Clockwork’s managing director, Dr Paul Jackson and Behavioural Researcher Ray Duffy, were invited to undertake the assessment by BP Egypt. The project took place at the company’s Cairo headquarters, and involved interviewing management and operatives working in various parts of the operation, delivering training to BP Egypt’s fatigue champions and the development of a fatigue management plan for the business to implement.
The project is part of BP’s international fatigue management initiatives, which commenced with the introduction of BP’s Group Recommended Practice on Fatigue Management, to which Clockwork contributed. Clockwork Research has been contracted to undertake similar assessments at BP operations in Libya, Angola and Oman.
