LOSA

Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA) is a powerful and well-established methodology for using jumpseat observers to assess normal line operations.  Endorsed by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the aim of LOSA is to identify operational risks before incidents occur.

A small, select group of line pilots from your airline are trained to be LOSA observers and they collect data in a de-identified manner. LOSA therefore collects detailed information on real line performance, as opposed to the “best case” performance recorded during line checks.

Clockwork has extensive experience conducting LOSAs for airlines including easyJet and Pegasus. We undertake the training of LOSA observers and provide ongoing support to ensure the integrity of the information collected.

Clockwork can also assist by undertaking a thorough analysis of the data to outline operational risks, with findings detailed in a comprehensive report.
