In addition to teaching on Cranfield’s Masters course, Clockwork also contribute to a 5-day short course covering all the key aspects of drink and drug driving. The course is based on research evidence and real-world practical application of detection and impairment techniques.
The aim of the course is to enable students to critically evaluate the effect of alcohol and drugs on driving performance and road safety; thereby to inform driver education methods and improve enforcement. The course will be of particular interest to those in the emergency services, fleet service managers, driver trainers and those involved in driver education or rehabilitation.
Clockwork’s Dr Paul Jackson teaches the drug driving aspect of this course, drawing on his experience of managing research into the effects of drugs on driving for the UK Department for Transport, and recent work for Sir Peter North, reviewing the laws and evidence relating to drug driving in the UK.
